Noah Stengl
Hello!
And welcome to my website. I'm a lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I received my Ph.D. in 2024. My current research traces conceptualizations of land in nineteenth-century American political thought, as well as how these configure ideas such as sovereignty and freedom. More generally, I am interested in American Political Thought, Indigenous Political Thought, Environmental Political Theory, and what I call politics of the "ordinary."

I am also a passionate teacher and mentor of undergraduates who is always trying to learn more about the science and art of postsecondary education.
